Job Title:                 Technical Assistant

Department:           Technical & Restoration

Location:                 London

Reports To:            Technical & Restoration Manager

 

 

Job Purpose:

To perform extensive quality assurance of all masters - newly restored as well as received/acquired - at all stages of production.

To act as a member of the Technical Team and to work closely in support of the Production & Operations Teams.

To maintain brand guidelines on content quality, working within deadlines set by Line Manager and determined by Arrow’s release schedule.

To be a support to Operations Department on content receipt, delivery and QA/QC as required.

 

Key responsibilies:

  • To assist with delivery and quality assurance of masters for Arrow Films working within Technical Department and in cooperation with Production and Operations Teams
  • To provide Quality Assurance reviews of supplied masters specifically for all technical/digital and historic/film source related issues including version comparison, digital presentation, colour grading, aspect ratio, audio presentation etc.
  • To provide full QC review of final deliverables prior to and during the disc authoring
  • To work closely with Arrow’s Production and Ops Teams, maintaining deadlines and updating the teams as required
  • Ad hoc duties specific to the Technical and Operations department as

 

Performance measurement & targets:

  • To work within deadlines and budgets as set by Line
  • To assess materials within brand guidelines using best practice

 

Qualifications & experience required:

  • Strong film lab/facility/technical background, as well as experience working in Home Entertainment
  • Preferred Knowledge of film history, film/photochemical lab, professional tape and digital format
  • Highly motivated
  • Project management skills
  • Effective communicator
  • MS Office and Editing software experience preferred

  • Extremely well-organised and a proven efficient manner of working practice
  • Attention to detail and strong integrity to follow best practice and due p
  • A passion for cinema and an interest in new digital formats
