Shift Manager

SHIFTS: 42hrs per week; Front End Days/Nights (Sun-Wed); Mon-Fri Days/Nights; Back End Days/Night (Wed-Sat)


The Inbound and Outbound teams in fulfilment operations are responsible for receiving, picking, packing and sorting orders that are placed with THG using our Warehouse Management System. They are supported by Quality Control. The B2B team picks and dispatches bulk orders and shipments to other warehouses and Kitting team co-packs bundles and subscription boxes.


Responsibilities:
•    The Shift Manager leads and is responsible for all aspects of the shift. 
•    The safety of all Personnel, Customers, Visitors and Contractors whilst on site is of the utmost importance, ensuring all interactions are safe and effective. 
•    Required to manage large teams effectively, nurturing growth and development of both people and Shift Operations. 
•    Shift Managers work with other internal departments and stakeholders to ensure agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and standards are achieved, prioritising customer experience, improving stock integrity and meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs). 
•    Shift Managers are accountable for aligning shift operational objectives with business needs, setting expectations for the shift to ensure goals are achieved to the highest standard, and breeding a continuous improvement culture.  
•    At times the Shift Manager will be the most senior leader on site and required to manage all their staff on shift and make critical decisions regarding site operations together with their peers in other departments  
•    When the Head of Department (HOD) & Site Lead are not on site, the Shift Manager will be the Point of Contact (POC) for all people issues, incidents and fire evacuations.

Requirements
•    Competent Microsoft skills, and ability to understand, manipulate and present large data sets.
•    English and Maths GCSE (preferred Degree level); 
•    Training IOSH certification (preferred).
•    Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (preferred), 
•    Leadership/management training (preferred)
•    Ability to make decisions (sometimes under pressure) regarding Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People, that will significantly impact both the Shift and the Business. 
•    Advanced understanding of H&S and HR processes 
•    Advanced Communication Skills 
•    Competent data analysis and problem-solving 
•    Capable of instigating and delivering change through people, culture, and the environment. 
•    Capable of shouldering HOD responsibilities in the absence of HOD
•    Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills.
•    Experience in objective setting and managing departments via KPIs.
•    Good team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
•    Extensive experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) 
•    Ability to navigate Intranet, EQMS, Site / Local portals, and Microsoft forms.
