Why be a Quality Director at THG Beauty? 

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the global Quality, Compliance, and Regulatory strategy across our fast growing portfolio of beauty, personal care, and wellness brands. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring that every product, from early concept to post market surveillance, meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory excellence. 

You will shape the strategic direction of our quality systems, oversee global compliance frameworks, influence product development, and act as the senior authority on risk, governance, and regulatory readiness across all markets. 

 

As Quality Director, you’ll:  

Strategic Quality & Regulatory Leadership 

  • Define and implement the global Quality & Regulatory strategy across all product categories and regions. 
  • Serve as the organisation’s senior authority on regulatory frameworks, product safety, and compliance risk. 
  • Partner with Executive, R&D, Product, Supply Chain, and Legal leaders to ensure quality and compliance are embedded into all business processes. 
  • Lead global readiness and response for regulatory changes (e.g., MoCRA, EU updates, China NMPA reforms). 
  • Oversee governance structures, including quality KPIs, audit programs, risk registers, and compliance reporting. 

Quality Systems & Product Lifecycle Oversight 

  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System across formulation, testing, manufacturing, and market release. 
  • Oversee raw material qualification, supplier capability assessments, and global supplier auditing programs. 
  • Set strategic direction for in process and finished goods testing, stability programs, and GMP compliance (ISO 22716, cGMP, NSF). 
  • Ensure robust CAPA, OOS, and deviation management processes are executed across all manufacturing sites and CMOs. 
  • Act as final quality approver for high-profile product launches and high-risk categories. 

Regulatory Compliance & Global Market Access 

  • Set and oversee global regulatory strategy for cosmetics, OTC drug products, dietary supplements, and wellness items. 
  • Ensure compliance with FDA MoCRA, EU Regulation 1223/2009, Health Canada, ASEAN regulations, and China NMPA submissions. 
  • Lead claim substantiation frameworks, labeling compliance, INCI oversight, and country specific warnings and governance. 
  • Oversee safety assessments, PIF creation, Responsible Person obligations, and toxicological review practices. 
  • Advise senior leadership on regulatory pathway decisions that impact speed-to-market and commercial risk. 

Safety, Risk & Crisis Management 

  • Oversee global product safety governance including toxicology, adverse event monitoring, SAE management, and signal detection. 
  • Lead senior level crisis management and recall readiness programs. 
  • Ensure ingredient compliance with EU Annex restrictions, Prop 65, and evolving regulatory lists. 

Testing, Certification & External Partner Governance 

  • Lead relationships with external labs, certification bodies, and regulatory consultants. 
  • Oversee clinical testing, dermatologist-tested programs, and claim validation strategies. 
  • Direct certification programs including cruelty-free, vegan, clean beauty, COSMOS/USDA organic, and Informed Sport. 
  • Ensure CMOs and suppliers meet stringent quality, compliance, and documentation standards. 

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Lead and mentor a high performing global Quality & Regulatory team. 
  • Build organisational capability in compliance, safety, and quality systems. 
  • Create a culture of excellence, scientific rigor, and continuous improvement across the business. 

 

What skills and experience do I need for this role? 

  • Extensive experience leading Quality & Regulatory teams within cosmetics, personal care, OTC drug products, dietary supplements, or wellness. 
  • Deep understanding of global regulatory frameworks (FDA, EU, MoCRA, NMPA, 21 CFR 111, OTC monographs). 
  • Demonstrated expertise in GMP compliance, stability programs, microbiology, safety assessments, and risk governance. 
  • Proven track record operating at Director or Senior Manager level overseeing multicategory, multimarket portfolios. 
  • Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and shape cross functional decision-making. 
  • Experience leading audits, regulatory inspections, and large-scale compliance programs. 
  • Strong background managing CMOs, global suppliers, and complex manufacturing networks. 
  • Skilled in quality systems design, documentation control, and endtoend product lifecycle governance. 

  • Exceptional problem-solving capability, prioritisation, and risk management skills. 

  • High integrity, sound judgement, and strong regulatory intuition. 
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance compliance with commercial agility. 
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build credibility across senior teams.
