Role: Paid Media Lead

Reporting to: Head of Paid Media
About the role
Reporting into the Head of Paid Media, the Paid Media Lead role would be a crucial conduit in terms of ensuring briefs to paid media are both integrated in terms of planning and execution but also that our teams execute against those plans and hit the aggressive targets the business requires to succeed.
The role supports the SLT in defining and maintaining a clear, effective strategic plan, while ensuring performance is consistently tracked against key objectives. It is responsible for driving efficient planning processes across the organisation and supporting teams in developing and executing their own strategies.
A key focus is on delivering growth, including scaling automation across PPC channels, expanding in APAC in partnership with the agency, and increasing revenue across core categories while reducing reliance on Protein powders. The role also translates insight into actionable business plans and leads initiatives to improve profitability, including bidding and margin optimisation.
In addition, the role oversees cross-channel marketing strategy, managing investment across Paid Media channels using advanced measurement approaches, and championing attribution and data-driven decision making. It is accountable for driving new customer growth year-on-year while continuously evolving Paid Media technology, infrastructure, and overall capability.
As a Paid Media Lead You'll:
Leadership:
- Reinvent and stimulate the strategic dialogue regularly. Meeting with senior teams & trading teams to address market challenges.
- Help the organisation to understand our strategy, plans, approach and performance for Paid Media.
- Build a culture of insight-based and strategic planning across the organisation.
Management:
- Manage teams ensuring that one-to-one meetings and learning and development opportunities are taken forward and ensuring that Managers do the same with their own teams.
- Develop and promote a positive team culture, motivating and supporting individuals and establishing effective business partnering, collaboration and integration across these teams and the wider organisation.
Planning:
- Oversee the strategic planning process across the organisation, ensuring integration across functions, specifically but not limited to Paid media.
- Oversee the development of a new planning programme to more effectively support the organisation in their strategic planning.
- Work with Senior Leadership and finance to oversee the annual, monthly and weekly business planning cycle.
Performance Management
- Lead on establishing key performance indicators both on income (quantity as well as quality with a focus on sustainable income and committed support), influence and organisational efficiency, including development of all internal team members in Paid Media.
- Responsible for keeping on top of client performance across the Paid Media divisions, ensuring that we identify potential opportunities and deliver against business targets.
- Lead on the measurement, monitoring and communication of performance outcomes to stakeholders across the organisation, and to the Senior Leadership Team.
International / Relationships:
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, key industry bodies and peers across the sector. Manage the relationship with international colleagues.
- Have strong relationships with Heads and Senior Leadership Team to be able to support and influence planning.
- Responsible for building out team internally, to deliver effective scale by continent including but not limited to APAC, UK, Europe and the Americas.
- Build framework for activation and platform, native to territory.
Other:
- Keep abreast of key market trends and the regulatory environment.
- To provide strategic direction and media planning support, to clients, from the very beginning and ensuring this can be implemented appropriately across the wider Paid Performance Teams.
- To utilise various industry tools to garner insight to inform the most innovative planning approach, across but not limited to all Paid Media channels.
- To work closely with client teams and activation teams to ensure overall delivery of the strategic insight.
- To support the wider strategy team where appropriate but being responsible for working on all inbound business development briefs.
- Provide support to the wider group and work on wider projects such as the group planning process, new business, best practice and other initiatives as needed.
