Why be a Ecommerce Manger at THG Beauty?
The Ecommerce Manager will take ownership of trading performance across Cult Beauty's Non-UK territories, with a primary focus on EU markets, working closely with the Senior Ecommerce Manager to plan, forecast and execute the commercial strategy for the Non-UK site. This is a hands-on trading role: the successful candidate will drive daily site and app performance, lead a robust test & learn agenda, and be accountable for the delivery of Revenue, Gross Profit (GP) and key KPI targets across their territories.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ecommerce trader who thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment and is looking to build deep expertise in EU ecommerce growth. The role also carries line management responsibility for 1–2 Ecommerce Executives, offering a natural next step for a trader ready to build their people leadership experience.
As an Ecommerce Manager you’ll:
Planning & Forecasting
- Build and maintain sales forecasts and trading budgets for Non-UK territories, working with the Senior Ecommerce Manager to align to the wider commercial plan.
- Own the territory trading calendar, mapping campaign moments, product launches and promotional windows relevant to EU shopping patterns and key dates.
- Support in-month and in-season reforecasting, factoring in seasonality, EU market maturity, local trading nuances and GBP:EUR FX movement.
On-Site & App Trading Execution
- Manage end-to-end site and app trading execution for the Non-UK site — from homepage and landing page merchandising through to campaign go-live and site health checks.
- Ensure accurate, timely activation of pricing, promotions and content, with particular attention to relevance for EU audiences and shopping behaviour.
- Partner with central marketing, buying and merchandising teams to tailor campaigns and product placement for the EU customer base.
- Own app-specific trading activity, including app merchandising, push/in-app messaging and app-exclusive campaigns.
Test & Learn / CRO
- Own and prioritise a test & learn roadmap for Non-UK territories, identifying CRO opportunities across the customer journey and conversion funnel.
- Partner with CRO, UX and Tech teams to scope, execute and analyse A/B and multivariate tests.
- Translate test outcomes into clear, actionable recommendations for site and app experience improvements.
Daily Trading & Performance
- Monitor daily trading performance against Revenue, GP and key KPI targets for the EU/Non-UK site.
- Investigate performance fluctuations in real time and take, or recommend, corrective trading action.
- Maintain and evolve reporting dashboards to track EU market KPIs, ensuring visibility of performance trends and risks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing channel leads, buying, CRM and data teams to drive qualified traffic and improve conversion.
- Partner with Tech and CRO teams to ensure seamless implementation of customer-facing changes and new initiatives.
- Support the Senior Ecommerce Manager in shaping and delivering the wider Non-UK growth strategy.
Reporting
- Prepare regular trading reports and performance summaries for senior stakeholders.
- Present clear, insight-led updates covering performance, opportunities, risks and recommended actions.
Team Leadership
- Line manage and develop 1–2 Ecommerce Executives, setting clear objectives and supporting day-to-day workload and prioritisation.
- Coach and upskill the team on trading execution, test & learn methodology and use of analytics tools.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture, supporting career development and knowledge-sharing.
What skills and experience do I need for this role?
- Proven ecommerce trading experience, ideally within beauty, fashion or another fast-paced online retail environment.
- Demonstrable experience of planning, forecasting and budget/P&L management.
- Hands-on experience of on-site and app trading execution and merchandising.
- Experience designing and running test & learn / CRO programmes, with a strong analytical mindset.
- Confident using web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics) and translating data into commercial action.
- Strong Excel skills; comfortable building and maintaining forecasts, trackers and reporting packs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working cross-functionally.
- Some prior experience of line management, mentoring or coaching junior team members is preferred.
- Commercially astute, proactive and results-oriented, with strong ownership and accountability.
- Experience working with, or exposure to, EU ecommerce markets is highly desirable.
Additional Recommended Skills
EU market understanding — awareness of EU consumer behaviour and shopping habits, key EU retail moments/calendar events, and the regional competitor landscape (e.g. Douglas, Notino, Flaconi, Sephora EU).
Localised awareness — sensitivity to EU cultural and seasonal nuance in campaign timing and messaging, even without full language localisation, to ensure content resonates with an EU customer base.
EU payment method familiarity — awareness of payment preferences common in EU markets (e.g. iDEAL, Klarna, Sofort) and their impact on conversion.
EU regulatory awareness — working knowledge of relevant EU consumer/ecommerce regulations (e.g. GDPR, EU consumer rights directive) as they apply to on-site trading and promotions.
