Seun Ogunsakin, Marketing Intern at LOOKFANTASTIC

As THG gears up for its most fast-paced and high-energy season of the year, Seun, Marketing Intern for LOOKFANTASTIC, offers an inside look at what it’s like to experience Peak for the very first time. Working within the LOOKFANTASTIC Brand team, Seun plays a hands-on role in campaign preparation - from organising hundreds of product samples for Black Friday shoots to supporting the Organic Social team with content creation.

In this behind-the-scenes feature, Seun shares how the Peak period transforms daily responsibilities, the advice that’s helping her prepare, and the excitement of seeing months of hard work come to life across global platforms.

What does your role as a Marketing Intern involve day to day?

I work in the Brand team as an intern, so my day-to-day tasks usually involves managing assets from the Beauty Box subscription to supporting in campaign ideation and helping to make sure all assets I looks after align with LOOKFANTASTIC’s tone and objectives. No two days look the same, which keeps it exciting!

How will your role operate during the Peak season?

During Peak season my role will become a lot more fast-paced as I’ll be supporting the Brand team in asset delivery for our Black Friday campaign as well as the Organic Social team in creating and editing content.

What have you heard about Peak season so far? Any insider tips from your team?

So far, I’ve heard it’s one of the busiest but most rewarding times of the year. Everyone says it’s “all hands-on deck,” and the pace really picks up. The main advice I’ve been given is to stay organised, ask for help when needed, and keep communication clear. My team has been super supportive in helping me prepare.

What kind of projects or tasks have you been working on to help get ready for Peak?

One of my main tasks as an intern on the brand team is to make sure we have samples ready for upcoming shoots and for peak which meant sourcing, collecting and chasing up for 231 different products to shoot for our Black Friday campaign. I’ve also recently started helping on the social team with taking and editing content to post on LOOKFANTASTIC’s social channels which has been exciting. It’s nice to take over what I’ve learnt so far about brand and apply that knowledge when editing content on the social team.

What part of Peak are you most excited to experience for the first time?

I’m most excited to see all the hard work come together like the campaigns going live, the social buzz around them, and how customers engage with the brand across platforms. Being able to contribute to that and actually see it play out in real time feels really rewarding.

How do you think going through Peak will help you grow professionally, and what skills are you hoping to develop?

I think Peak will teach me how to thrive under pressure, manage tight deadlines, adapt quickly when things change, and keep calm in a fast-moving environment. It’ll also help me strengthen my communication and project coordination skills, especially working across different teams. I’m hoping to come out of it with more confidence in my ability to work on projects from both a brand and social perspective.
