The Hut Group to enter Online Gifting Market with Launch of Gifted.com

15-04-2010

The Hut Group today announced its intention to enter the lucrative online gifting market with the launch of Gifted.com. The decision follows a successful 6 month trial period of retailing a broad range of gifting products on its general retail website, TheHut.com.

Personalised gifting products have been identified as a key growth area for The Hut Group which intends to deliver a market leading retail proposition across Europe through its own site, Gifted.com.

Gifted.com will launch in May this year with the clear message of delivering consumers better value than they are currently receiving online. Gifted.com will launch with Free Delivery on every order as standard, a completely unique offer against existing competitors. The free delivery service is a core value proposition across the portfolio of websites run by The Hut Group. In addition to free delivery, Gifted.com aims to further enhance competition in the online gifting market by delivering more competitive price points, further passing some of the existing high margins onto the consumer.

Using The Hut Group’s existing technology platform, infrastructure and relationships, Gifted.com is expected to become one of the largest online personalised gifting retailers within 2 years.

As part of The Hut Group’s move into FMCG product areas, other sectors currently under review include Sports, Health & Beauty, Footwear and Toys.
