About Physical Security
The Global Security & Loss Prevention team is responsible for the implementation and delivery of a secure environment throughout the business ultimately to protect THG colleagues, members of the public, assets and our building portfolio across the estate.
The team priorities are as follows:
- Delivering a safe and secure environment for all colleagues within the workplace
- Design and deliver a program of continuous improvement to enable the protection of THG assets through the effective and timely identification and management of risk.
- Promoting a positive security culture encouraging security awareness, ownership of our security principles across the business and the reporting of security related incidents to senior management
About the Role
Our Security team are the protectors of our experience sites, which include King Street Town House Hotel and Hale Country Club. Entrusted with caring for the safety and security of our guests, employees and premises. Though skilfully trained, they never lose sight of their ultimate reasonability, to create lifelong memories for our guests.
A day in the life of our Security Supervisor it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency, even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Security Supervisor accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know.
- You will be responsible for the management and oversight of the Experience Security teams across 2 sites across varying complexities
- Our Security team are responsible for enforcing site policies and procedures with guests and employees as well as work with pertinent local, state and federal law enforcement during their day. This will include maintaining the confidentially of our guests and site information, understanding and following all aspects of the experience sites emergency and loss prevention procedures, conduct thorough fire and safety patrols, and maintain certification in First Aid and CPR, all to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience.
- Sometimes our guests have special requests, it is important to focus attention on details and work well under pressure to ensure we prioritise, organize, and follow up. Most of these requests are fulfilled by our Security Team.
- Our experience sites are truly luxury. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. It is important to think clearly, quickly, and make concise decisions while remaining calm. Our Security Officers are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct.
- Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Security team must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains.
As a Security Supervisor for Experiences you will:
- Lead and develop the security concierge team across two Manchester sites, including workload management, scheduling, and holiday/absence cover.
- Create, implement, and improve standard operating procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and business outcomes.
- Manage supplier relationships and maintain strong collaboration with departmental leaders across both sites.
- Oversee and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Deliver weekly KPI reporting and contribute to the development and maintenance of the security strategy.
- Provide a visible, service-oriented presence to support guests and club members.
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance through regular checks (H&S, fire alarms, lift alarms, emergency lighting) and support emergency response planning and drills.
- Maintain flexibility to travel between sites and perform duties requiring extended periods of walking, sitting, and standing.
What skills and experience do I need for this role?
- A minimum of 3 years experience in the security industry, preferably within hospitality, leisure, or similar environments.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
- SIA License (Door Supervisor or Security).
- Strong understanding of guest service and hospitality standards.
- Requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Role includes indoor and outdoor patrol duties across hotel and country club grounds
