About the Role

We are looking for a Raw Lab Technician with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. In this role, you will ensure that raw materials and products comply with all relevant testing standards. To collaborate with the Planning team, Supplier Quality Assurance, and Buyers to ensure that all incoming materials meet compliance standards, follow the required processes, and are approved for production use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with 250+ raw material suppliers and oversee 1500+ raw materials
  • Update and monitor reports (Sage, Raw Tracker, ALS)
  • Perform stock valuation checks, monitor expiry dates, and coordinate product relocation
  • Inspect daily supplier deliveries: pallets, documentation, labelling accuracy, packaging integrity
  • Take samples and conduct testing (Near Infra-Red Spectrometer, organoleptic checks)
  • Submit daily delivery samples to external labs (ALS)
  • Verify and approve materials through Certificates of Analysis (CoA) and internal checks
  • Update Sage with new batch details, relabel products when required
  • Maintain and refresh Gold Standard samples
  • Register and manage non-conformances (NCR), liaising with suppliers and internal teams
  • Respond to emails, provide updates, and support issue resolution
  • Attend daily meetings and contribute to problem-solving
  • Monitor products approaching shelf life and request shelf-life extensions
  • Send samples to suppliers for potential extensions
  • Correct booking errors and update Smartflows
  • Compare samples against Gold Standard using NIR and organoleptic testing, update attribution sheets
  • Conduct GMP, Fabrication, Glass & Plastic audits
  • Participate in internal training sessions
  • Manage internal shelf-life extensions
  • Handle sample requests from different departments

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of raw material testing methods and use of Near Infra-Red Spectrometer
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience working with Sage or similar systems
  • Problem-solving mindset and strong communication skills
