About the Procurement team and the Role

The Procurement Team involves strategically sourcing and managing raw materials, packaging, and other essential components for high-volume production. This includes developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and evaluating the end-to-end procurement process.

Effective procurement at THG Labs is crucial for meeting high consumer demand and navigating intense competition while maintaining profitability. 

This ensures that the organisation can consistently deliver high-quality products to major global brands, meeting their expectations & maintaining a competitive edge in the market.

Reporting to the Head of Beauty Procurement, the Procurement Manager will be responsible setting and delivering strategic targets for all Raw Materials, while developing a diverse supply chain which incorporates innovation, identifies and mitigates risk to spend and ensures clear reporting to stakeholders. The Procurement Manager will provide development and guidance to all members of the team, providing clear objectives and deliverables to support team performance.

As a Procurement Manager of Raw Materials you will:

  • Develop procurement plans for NPD and new business to ensure competitive pricing and policy alignment.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks for critical materials and escalate poor supplier performance.
  • Approve deviations to WOB submissions before supplier onboarding.
  • Set and review annual Opex budget; support strategic target setting.
  • Forecast NPD calendar to anticipate and reduce supply chain risks.
  • Drive procurement projects to enhance business commerciality and provide strategic support to the team.
  • Engage suppliers continuously to identify trends and new product opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively across teams and take clear, concise meeting notes.
  • Promote a positive working environment and comply with health & safety measures:
    • Take reasonable care for personal and others’ safety.
    • Follow H&S training and report hazards or imminent dangers (“see it, report it”).
  • Perform additional duties as required.

What skills and experience do I need for this role?

  • Strong experience in procurement of raw materials (ideally within the Beauty industry but not essential)
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
  • CIPS Diploma level 3 plus
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in managing procurement processes and systems
  • Experience running and managing complex tenders
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Highly competent negotiator
  • Data analysis
  • Knowledge in key commercial clauses
