Job Overview
This is an exciting new role at The Hut Group (Myprotein.com) where you’ll be working with some of the markets most innovative products and on a global scale, working with all marketing channels and trading teams to drive positive sales and enable product discovery for both new and existing products. This will include leading the Packaging agenda, putting design and format front and centre to help drive rate of sales and unlock new opportunities for the business.
This role sits within The Internal Marketing Function; an action orientated team that shapes how our products are communicated to consumers through design. The role will have high visibility with distinct areas of ownership where you can really showcase your influencing and project management skills. The key responsibilities will include developing packaging for our core portfolio across two brands; Myprotein and Myvitamins. It also includes optimising packs for a retail shelf as well as manage large scale identity projects.
The role includes briefing new product artwork based on brand guidelines, working with a concept designer to develop new creative concepts, as well as identifying new packaging initiatives to be adopted by the business. A passion for sustainability will be key to success, as the role will also working within a long-term strategy to help us reach our sustainability goals.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for implementing and optimising design strategies for all core products in collaboration with the Brand team, NPD and Product Marketing Team.
- Optimise pack design and artwork set-up for high quality finish.
- Leading specialised projects to deliver market leading innovation.
- Manage the packaging team, with one direct report.
- Oversee the packaging development process from packaging briefing, to design development (with our agencies), artwork and print
- Ensure packaging products are developed to the highest standard and final product meet agreed specifications

- Ensure on pack copy is customer facing, fit for purpose and compliant
- Monitor packaging complaints across the range to ensure continuous development of our packaging
- Benchmark competitor designs to spot opportunities for improvement (formats, customer experience, copy, design)
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve customer experience – most notably the shopper marketing, brand and licensing function.
- Consult with the licensing team on how packaging designs are kept consistent in partnerships.
- Be the champion of sustainability, ensuring the range is as sustainable as it can be.
- Together with Packaging Procurement and Engineering, identify opportunities to reduce cost while maintaining quality.
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience in packaging development, product marketing, or brand design within FMCG, consumer goods, or retail.
- Strong understanding of packaging processes from concept through to artwork, print, and delivery.
- Experience managing packaging agencies, suppliers, or cross-functional project teams.
- Knowledge of sustainability trends and innovation in packaging, with experience embedding sustainable practices into packaging solutions.
- Awareness of competitor and market trends, with the ability to translate insights into actionable design improvements.

- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple packaging initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong eye for design and detail, with the ability to optimise artwork and ensure high-quality finishes.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels across brand, product, procurement, and marketing functions.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to evaluate customer feedback and competitor activity to drive continuous improvement.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance design, functionality, cost, and sustainability considerations.
