Role: Assistant Designer (Sportswear) 

Area: THG Nutrition (Myprotein Activewear) 

Reporting to: Designer / Junior Designer

Role Location: THG HQ, 7-9 Sunbank Lane, Altrincham, WA15 0AF (Full Time Office Based)

As an Assistant Designer, you’ll gain end-to-end exposure to the full product lifecycle, working closely with experienced designers, technical teams, and global suppliers. You’ll see your designs come to life at scale, worn by a highly engaged and growing customer base. 

You’ll be encouraged to bring fresh thinking, challenge convention, and stay ahead of market trends, while developing strong technical and commercial skills. With access to a broad supplier base, innovative fabrics, and new manufacturing techniques, this role offers a genuine platform to grow your design career within a globally recognised brand.

Reporting to the Designer & Junior Designer, this role will be responsible for but not limited to: - 

  • Working with the design team to develop the product range from concept to final product for both mens & womenswear categories and to be able to show this in season presentations. 
  • Use their technical / innovative knowledge to create concept + design through to the delivery of the final product. To push this forward season on season. 
  • The development of the design will be necessary. Working with the team and liaising with factories to ensure product is delivered on time and to a high standard. 
  • To be able to complement the design with the sourcing of trims and fabrics, whilst sticking to a price point. 
  • Being at the forefront of market trends both internally and externally 
  • keeping up to date with knowledge of new factories and techniques used for fabrics, finished etc 
  • Supporting the manufacture base with any technical issues during production 
  • Keeping critical paths up to date throughout the season 

Requirements: 

  • Relevant degree level education (Fashion/Textile Design) 
  • Experience with designing / producing and updating product tech packs through the design / production process 
  • Knowledge of product and manufacture 
  • To have strong adobe skills in photoshop / illustrator. 
  • Confident and clear communication skills at all levels and desire to build strong working relationships 
  • Planning and organisational skills, along with problem-solving abilities 
  • The desire to improve ways of working and innovate, drive, enthusiasm and self-motivation 
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive within this fast-growing business. 
  • To have understanding of the sports / performance market.
