To provide support to the site in ensuring the health &safety, food safety and quality requirements are met. Challenge deviations from standards and compliance variances. Maintain and update all the site’s product specs, Quality and H&S safety documentation and processes. Develop a culture of success through Coaching & Mentoring individuals. Be the lead of any external audits and the point of contact for non-conformance close out plans from the audit. 

 

  • Maintain a Health and Safety culture within the Luton site; ensure all team members consistently deliver site safety best practices by demonstrating zero tolerance poor behaviour, continually challenging, and raising Safety standards.  
  • Maintain the site’s H&S documentation and risk assessment, making sure it is up to date and compliant 
  • Carry out periodic H&S audits 
  • Coordinate work to eliminate risks to our employees, products and environment through rigorous safety and accident investigations and high-quality current risk assessments 
  • Ensure safe working practices are maintained and ‘Standard Operations’ adhered to 

 

  • Support the embedment of the food safety culture across the Luton site; Act as a role model in the quality values by continually raising standards.  
  • Be proactive in the drive to improve key quality metrics and objectives, such as complaint reduction. 
  • Coordinate all non-conformances raised on internal / external audits, ensure closure of those non-conformances by set due dates.  
  • Ensure that non-conformances are thoroughly investigated, and countermeasures / solution are robust and implemented on time. 
  • Ensure all team members adhere to SOPs through spot checks across site 
  • Coordinate and maintain the site training matrix to ensure so that colleagues’ training is accurate for the role they are doing, and no refresher training is overdue. 
  • Lead team towards “Always Audit Ready” establishing a culture of compliance where: 
  • Manufacturing records are accurately completed in real time to facilitate actions that allow the approval of documentation as required.  
  • Make sure Processes and procedures, including online / in-process quality checks are followed rigorously to deliver consistent quality product.  
  • Vigorously enforce the completion of all records site standards, by departmental teams. Escalate any potential issues that pose a risk to Food Safety or product quality to site management.  
  • Ensure all risks to employees, products and environment are eliminated through rigorous investigation to establish robust effective timely Preventative Actions 
  • Champion quality assurance 
  • Enforce the site ‘Respect & Dignity Charter’ in your everyday engagement with all staff on site, ensuring that your Core Behaviours and those of your teams match the expectations.  
  • Lead by example - be a role model for the THG behaviours and values 
  • Proactively manage and embrace change 
  • Work with Site Operations Manager towards culture of fact and data-based decision making within operations.  
  • To carry out internal audits (health and safety and GMP) and communicate non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions.  
  • To assist customers with queries and completion of customer technical documentation. 
  • Coordinate H&S and SOP training so as the site is compliant and audit ready 
  • Create and maintain a site compliance scorecard  
  • Coordinate - daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly compliance (H&S / Quality) reviews. 
  • Ensuring all waste management measures are being adhered to. 
  • Support and coach individuals to achieving 100% adherence to “Right First Time” agenda 
  • Work with Site teams on continuous improvements, through SOP reviews, risk assessment reviews,  
  • Demonstrates an ability to solve basic process/ technical problems. 
  • Deliver the site compliance KPIs 
  • Deliver agreed objectives on time 
  • Additional duties as and when required that are relevant to the department and/or the Site. 

 

Experience Required 

  • The proven ability to liaise pro-actively with all departments.  
  • Excellent communication skills - including verbally, in writing and active listening.  
  • Sound computer skills.  
  • The ability to work effectively and prioritise to meet deadlines and multi-task.  
  • Knowledge of a food and/or drinks operation ideal
