Job Role: Sourcing Assistant 

Job Location: Manchester, WA15 0AF 

As Sourcing Assistant for MP Activewear, you will be responsible in assisting the Senior Sourcing Manager with identifying supply base gaps, monitor and continuously communicate with all suppliers. This role will provide you with the opportunity to support the global sourcing strategy, whilst also support in exploring emerging markets and seeking new suppliers. 

Alongside this, you will provide administration support across the sourcing team which includes data compilation, monthly reports and supplier management. 

Core Responsibilities: 

• Have an understanding of how to negotiate with suppliers 
• Understand payment terms, supplier MOQ and lead times 
• Have a understanding of different COO’s and their capabilities 
• Collaborate with suppliers on cross costing exercises and understand cost saving strategies 
• Work closely with internal stakeholders – understanding how their job role works and how we can collaborate together to achieve the global sourcing strategy 
• Owns the monthly supplier traffic light system and is responsible for sending performance reports monthly 
• Ensure supplier factory data held is accurate and updated monthly 
• Support in achieving key sustainability goals 
• Keen interest in sustainability, keeping up to date with the latest innovations to report back to the team 
• Coordination and sample management in the office 
• Work with Senior Sourcing Manager to scope out new suppliers 
• Has the ability to run reports with a good understanding of excel 
• Manage daily email communication with global supply base 

About you: 

• Degree qualified in relevant discipline (Buying & Merchandising, Supply Chain) OR have at least 1-2 years industry experience 
•  Brilliant time-management, organisation and communication skills and plenty of initiative 
• Excellent excel & analytical skills with high attention to detail 
• Tenacious attitude and the ability to work well in a team 
• To be calm under pressure
