About THG Eco and the Role

THG has recently published its 2030 sustainability Strategy – THG x Planet Earth, with the long-term goal of leaving the world better than we found it by utilising our unique capacity for innovation and incorporating sustainability into every decision we make.

The Sales Development team is a part of the wider BD function, and a key part of THG ECO. The role is integral in the early-stage sales cycle for the end-to-end Sustainability proposition, as well as being able to create wider opportunities through selling our modular services.

Responsibilities:

  • Have (or quickly learn) a basic understanding of the journey to Net Zero, including carbon footprinting, carbon reduction, carbon offsetting, tree planting etc. in order to sell and cross sell services

The business unit is industry agnostic with experience working across multiple verticals and as such, you will use your knowledge of THG ECO’s sustainability solutions to tailor your outreach accordingly, covering:

  • Carbon Footprinting / Life Cycle Analysis / Carbon Calculators
  • Science-Based Targets and SBTi Submission
  • Carbon Credits / Renewable Energy Certificates / REGOs etc.
  • Tree Planting

Whilst this is a role that creates the start of a client’s engagement with THG ECO, it is imperative that it maintains an engaged relationship with the rest of the business and our delivery partners as required, to deliver exceptional customer experience and results.

The role of a Sales Development Representative is to map a market; build relationships through various methods of outreach, and to generate tangible sales opportunities for the ECO team:

  • Contact relevant sustainability-based / C-Suite decision makers to generate leads and opportunities, using own guidance as well as that provided by ECO Senior Manager / BDM
  • Deliver targeted and strategic outreach by phone, LinkedIn, Email etc.
  • Professionally articulate the THG ECO solutions (internal training provided) and be comfortable delivering phone-based / Microsoft Teams presentations
  • Be accountable for your own objectives, whilst also working with the wider team to nurture and deliver deals
  • Support Senior Manager / BDM in ECO pipeline development and adhering to Zoho reporting requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience within sales or a willingness to learn
  • 1-2+ years experience in solution sales desirable
  • Experience working with a solution or service
  • Experience with Sales Process Methodology and using CRM systems
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in using PowerPoint, Word, Excel and similar presentation and office packages
