Who you are:

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive individual who can work closely with the Head of Merchandising to lead key elements of the Merchandising function from sales analysis and stock control to project and team management.

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of the beauty industry and a passionate interest in beauty trends.

The key to working in the Buying & Merchandising team at Cult Beauty is the ability to find the correct balance between the expectation of the customer, the internal teams, the suppliers and the objectives of the company’s financial strategy. The ability to easily juggle the needs of each of these internal and external customers is essential. And speed is essential – fast reaction to sales and trends is one of the keys to our success.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to further their career in the online beauty industry and within the Merchandising function.


What you will be doing:

• Analysing sales figures and spotting trends and acting upon them immediately – daily and weekly for both UK and International markets
• Managing stock levels at both Brand and Product level and advising senior team of any stock ‘threats’/ overages/ risks and devising strategies together to deal with these problems
• Evaluate large amounts of data and make sound decisions based on what you see
• Oversee the weekly re-order process, ensuring we build stock to the right levels to support upcoming sales promotions
• Maximizing sales opportunities for the brands you are responsible for, forecasting demand for both newness and reorders. This is a key part of the role
• Managing a Junior Merchandiser; conducting regular progress reviews, ensuring personal & professional development in line with company values
• Creating ad-hoc reports as requested and having input on ideas regarding new reporting
• Providing insightful findings and actionable feedback to teams across the business
• Working closely with buying teams on newness and feeding back on trends and concerns.
• Liaising with suppliers regarding issues as required and attending supplier meetings as required
• Communicating sales trends across the business in conjunction with Head of Merchandising
• Communicating with the DC, as necessary
• Contributing to the building and execution of our monthly marketing and sales strategy by working cross-functionally with marketing teams to co-ordinate new product launches across email, social media and on site
• Utilising sales insights and data analysis to inform product selection for appropriate marketing channels
• Manage bi-annual markdown planning and execution


Must haves:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience at either Junior Merch/ Merchandiser level 
• Experience within an online environment
• Experience of managing multiple brands at the same time
• Ability to think of the customer always
• Strong experience of supplier liaison
• Proactive team player and able to work on own accord
• Experience of managing a team
• Excellent communicator both internally and with external suppliers
• You must be confident
• Advanced level Excel proficiency


Nice to haves:

• Experience within the beauty environment. If you do have not have this, you must be able to prove your awareness and passion for the beauty market and all competitors.
