About the Role
You will have a leading role in supporting the group’s indirect tax function including both compliance and project advisory work. You will support the group VAT Compliance Senior Manager with the effective management of indirect tax risk and opportunity, whilst supervising and supporting more junior members of the team. You will act as a trusted business partner for the wider business, particularly finance and accounting. THG’s central operations for the EU are based in Poland, with multiple VAT registrations in Poland and other EU Member States.
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, dynamic, and looking to advance their skills & knowledge alongside their career in a fast-growing technology business.
- Take responsibility for the preparation and finalization of a portfolio of indirect tax returns including VAT, EC Sales listings and Intrastat covering the EU
- Manage a central indirect tax compliance calendar to ensure all returns are submitted on time
- Take an active role completing an Indirect tax Balance sheet control file, ensuring all Balance sheets are complete, reconciled and contain relevant supporting documents
- Manage a central indirect tax question Inbox service
- Supporting junior members of the indirect tax team with VAT compliance, Balance sheet reconciliations and helping to develop them more generally
- Working with the indirect tax leadership to support individual business areas and internal teams on internal issues
- Supporting continuous improvement in processes and controls

Requirements:
- Polish speaking
- 3+ years’ experience in a VAT compliance role covering Poland as a key territory
- Strong Balance Sheet reconciliation experience
- Working VAT technical knowledge and an ability to independently problem solve to develop commercially focused solutions
- Computer literate, particularly with Excel
- Ability to prioritise workload and keep to deadlines
- Self-motivated and resilient
- Interest in self-development and career progression
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with internal and external stakeholders who do not specialise in tax
- Attention to detail whilst keeping in mind the ‘big picture’
