About the People Team and the Role
The People Team manage the full employment lifecycle within THG, from candidate attraction and onboarding, through to learning & development and employee relations.
Reporting directly to the Head of People, the HR Manager is a credible business-oriented solution provider and trusted partner. You deliver generalist support to the head office teams in New York and California as well as our remote employees located in several states around the US. You will provide counsel and guidance in talent management, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, talent planning and people operations. You actively manage all aspects of people-related matters autonomously to ensure a proactive level of support is provided to the business.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Partnering
- · Provide effective and timely first line People support and counsel to employee and manager enquiries on various people related topics including assisting to interpret defined people policies and procedures.
- · Provide coaching and advice on career development, recruitment practices, succession planning, compensation and performance management, diversity & inclusion and other HR practices.
- · Review exit interview data to identify trends across the division and provide recommendations for improvement.
- · Provide monthly reports on people data, trends and recommendations to the divisional Head of People.
Employee Relations
- · Offer first line ER support including disciplinary up to and including termination.
- · Lead and conduct investigations regarding violations of our company’s standards of conduct etc.
- · Deal with employee grievances in a timely manner with the goal of getting the best outcome for all parties involved.
- · Provide advice in relation to involuntary separation to ensure compliance with company culture and practices, determine legal exposure by verifying applicable legislation, and make a recommendation to the People on how to proceed.
- · Provide advice to Managers on role accommodation/modification requests and support return to work planning and long-term absence.
- · In partnership with the divisional Head of People, ensure compliance for all corporate policies & procedures.
Performance Management
- · Support Managers through coaching on performance management and improvement in order to assist in improving employee’s performance.
- · Facilitate and offer guidance to managers on the Performance Improvement Process (PIP).
- Talent Development and Workforce Planning
- · Provide Workforce Planning advice and support hiring managers to determine future resource needs and develop plans for retention, and recruitment based on predicted skills gaps, and employee turnover.
- · Partner with the internal talent team and Head of People to determine applicable salary.
- · Support the divisional Head of People in the delivery of all people programs including THG’s performance management process, remuneration review and bonus programs.
People Operations
- · Manage employee engagement survey for the division and provide advice and recommendations to managers to identify, develop and implement action plans.
- · Make recommendations on continuous improvement of policies and practices, in line with legislation and best practice.
- · Validate and confirm that all people administrative forms/systems are correctly completed by managers including change of terms and manager leaver forms.
- · Work with the HR Operations Specialist to ensure that all ADP people transactions and reporting are completed in a timely manner along with general people administration management.

Qualifications
- · Minimum of 5 years’ HR progressive HR generalist experience.
- · Experience working in a high-volume ER environment.
- · Experience coaching and developing a team.
- · Solutions orientated and meticulous attention to detail.
