About THG x Planet Earth and the Role
THG has recently published its 2030 sustainability Strategy – THG x Planet Earth, with the long-term goal of leaving the world better than we found it by utilising our unique capacity for innovation and incorporating sustainability into every decision we make.
The position is primarily responsible for creating efficient processes and systems to ensure products are sourced in line with THG’s Ethical Supply Chain Standards. The Social Responsibility Manager should have direct experience with responsible supply chain management and an ability to work cross functionally with sourcing and category managers, and other supply chain professionals within our rapidly growing and evolving business.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that vendors understand and adhere to THG’s Ethical Supply Chain Standards, including, ensuring that all supplier sites have an active, approved SR audit
- Manage the Social Responsibility (SR) audit workflow ensuring all suppliers under THG are qualified for production. Resolve open issues with suppliers, escalate egregious issues to the business owners, and invent new mechanisms to improve efficiency of our SR audits.
- Support and manage remediation of human rights risks to remediate all Zero Tolerance Violations findings
- Co-develop with procurement teams on supplier performance improvement on human rights through SR’s performance scoring framework – this includes setting goals for score improvement, working with vendors to enrol in programs addressing human rights risk areas, and integrating SR performance scoring into business processes
- Partner with business and procurement teams to develop and advise on key SR issues that might impact sourcing or production plans, and provide appropriate mitigation recommendations
- Develop standardized operating procedures, RACI, audit mechanisms, and change management support for targeted interventions in conjunction with performance improvement goals
- Vet, track, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures for day to day SR execution (audit scheduling and management, corrective action planning and remediation), including simplifying processes and eliminating process gaps
- Succinctly convey complex problems in easy to digest terms for all stakeholders
- Drive supplier remediation on issues and provide sustainable solution implementation for risks identified
- Facilitate the development of corrective action plans with business units and suppliers and confirm resolution of non-compliance in a timely manner, where necessary
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience driving ethical/responsible sourcing/ social responsibility within global supply chains and/or operations e.g., SMETA
- Experience and proficiency in project/program management as it relates to human rights and labour practices
- Expertise in regional and international labour standards (e.g., ILO)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience influencing key stakeholders both internal and external
- Bachelor’s degree
