We're currently recruiting for a talented Bar Manager to join King Street Townhouse Hotel & Spa, an iconic hotel in the heart of the city, that has 40 bedrooms, suites and conference / events spaces.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to work directly for an established company, as well as furthering their career in the hotel industry. The hotel also includes King Street Tavern (bar, restaurant and wine cellars), afternoon tea rooms, conferencing /event space, gym and treatment rooms, which are available to hotel guests. King Street Townhouse boasts some amazing features, such as its rooftop infinity spa pool, with views of the spires and clock tower of Manchester’s iconic town hall. The hotel prides itself in its reputation for special events and occasions. As such we are very popular for christenings, wedding parties, anniversaries and birthday celebrations. In addition to this we also have regular corporate banquets and events. 

 

Role Duties:  

  • Your role is to ensure a smooth running of the Beverage department ensuring all guests receive the highest level of service standards at all times.  
  • Providing consistent assistance to the Food and Beverage Manager to ensure team members are aligned with the company requirements. 
  • Drives financial targets for Covers, Spend Per Head, Labour, Cost of Sale, Purchasing and Operating Profit. 
  • Being visible and approachable at all times.  
  • To coach and mentor team members.  
  • To assist with team member training and new starter inductions. 
  • Attend operations meetings 
  • Have an extensive knowledge of wine and cocktail offerings.  
  • Take ownership to ensure service standards are met and maintained where possible. 
  • Impeccable attention to detail and forward planning 
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment whilst displaying resilience.  
  • Ensure that all guests’ requests and queries are responded to promptly and efficiently, ensuring that exceptional service is delivered to guests at all times. 
  • Have a deep understanding of each seasonal menu and food and beverage offerings, with the ability to describe, recommend, and answer any questions appropriately.  
  • Ensure an efficient and safe delivery of all beverage orders in line with guest expectations ensuring an exceptional level of service is maintained at all times.  
  • Deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times and ensuring that any guest complaints and comments are reported to management. 

 

Ideal candidate: 

  • Degree Level 2:1 or Intelligence through work experience 
  • WSET Level 2 or a keen interest and knowledge of wine  
  • Food Safety Level 
  • Process led and organised 
  • Natural problem solver 
  • Quality focussed 
  • A strong grounding in bartending to a high level 
  • 5* Luxury and high level bar experience
