About the Role

Reporting into the AP Manager the primary responsibility of the AP Team Leader is to lead a team of AP Associates and organise day to day activities monitoring individual performances and adjusting priorities as per business requirements.

The AP Team Leader acts as a subject matter expert and point of reference for issues relating to the delivery of the Supplier Invoicing process and to make sure Group procedures are followed.

Responsibility is to manage the flow of work through effective LEAN techniques, observing all key business controls to ensure all work completed under the remit is ‘right first time’ .

The AP Team Leader identifies poor processes suggesting workable solutions and escalates any business critical issues to the AP Manager.

Responsibilities:

Performance Delivery

  • Organise, supervise and monitor the AP Team activities efficiently and effectively to ensure all SLA’s and  KPI’s are met
  • Delivers against Team Target
  • Drives performance for department targets / KPI and manages individual performance accordingly 
  • Act as on the job coach for AP Associates 
  • Provide expertise and act as first point of escalation for resolving Statement Reconciliation / Processing queries / Invoice discrepancies / System Support Issues such as Procure
  • Manages incoming requests through work flow and schedules activities appropriately
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with External counterparts, other Transactional Teams, external suppliers, internal customers and business partners
  • Strives to achieve best practice performance levels as per benchmarks agreed with the AP Manager
  • Delivers Month End close, monitoring all activities, ensuring the AP team deliver Month End on time 

Process Management and Improvement

  • In liaison with the AP Manager identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives
  • Hold Weekly and Monthly 1-2-1 Meetings with each of your team members
  • Evaluates new processes ensuring training material is produced for all team members and they are then fully trained 
  • Keep abreast of latest developments and legislation which will affect policies/processes in the relevant process area
  • Provide Reporting on Performance vs Target for your relevant Team and support with any overall Team reporting requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a Shared Service centre or similar working environment 
  • Ability to act as SME for the specific Transactional area
  • Office IT literate, preferably with advanced MS Excel skills 
  • Sage or any other ERP systems knowledge
  • Track of high performing standards
  • Track of high standards Customer Service

Qualification (one or more of the following):

  • Qualified by Experience
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • Fluent in English verbal and written
  • One or more relevant European Languages an advantage
